My first post here, been lurking for a bit.

I joined CAP this past May, so new to the organization. I'm in the process of demoting myself from 1st Lieutenant to Tech Sergeant! I've served in both the Army and Air Force.

Looking forward to interacting with everyone here.

As an alternative - Consider an Arrow Dual Band handheld beam antenna (better with built in duplexer), a handheld dual band radio with a good S meter, an offset attenuator such as KC9ON. May not be exactly what you are looking for because it is not doppler, just my 2c.

Pretty self-explanatory from the subject. Would like to try to acquire an Ltronics Little L-per LL Series, aka the Cheese Block. Anyone personally purchase and own one that they would like to part ways with? Have been looking for months on The Google Machine and eBay. If you have any other resources to search for it, that info would be appreciated too. Thanks!

Former CAPID isn't essential. They can use the SSAN.

Start with 39-2:

6.2.2.1.  Members electing to rejoin must reapply (CAPF 12 and fingerprint card) and be accepted by the unit and higher headquarters (see Chapter 3).  Upon acceptance, members will be credited with previous achievements, but their records will reflect a break in service.  Note: Reinstatement of grade of former members is neither automatic nor mandatory, but is at the discretion of the unit commander.  Commanders must request grade reinstatement through channels in accordance with CAPR 35-5, CAP Officer & Noncommissioned Officer Appointments and Promotions.

35-5 says pretty much the same thing:

3.8. Former Members. A former member may be reinstated to the same grade held prior to voluntary membership termination, provided he or she qualifies for that grade under current criteria (including applicable professional development criteria). Requests for former member grade reinstatements for those members rejoining with a two year or less break in service may be based on the grandfathered duty performance promotion requirements until 11 August 2018. A recommendation for such reinstatement is neither automatic nor mandatory. If approved, the appointment will not be retroactive and the date of grade will be the date validated by National Headquarters upon reinstatement.

Don't forget section D on the F12 - Previous CAPID so they can match up. Otherwise, it may be processed as a "new" member.

If a SM left as 2Lt 4 years ago and now wants to rejoin, do they keep rank and level (classes, ratings etc)?
Thx

What does your Safety folks have to say about this. Preventing "Hanger Rash" is one of their high interest items.

Has this been coordinated with your Wing Operations team?

They should definitely be the go-to here, since it's "their" aircraft.

September 5, 2024

Maj. Alberto Torres
Polk County Composite Squadron
Florida Wing

Alberto Torres Andújar, a servant of God, beloved husband, proud father, and loving grandfather, went to meet Jesus on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the age of 64.
Alberto was one of seven sons born to Eugenio and Eliza (Andujar) Torres in El Condado, Puerto Rico on April 5, 1960. After living in Illinois for some time, he moved to Florida in 1999. He married the love of his life, Mavelie, on May 22, 2002.
Alberto faithfully and honorably served this nation for over 33 years, as a tech sergeant for the United States Air Force, including 21 years as a civilian with the Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base. He also proudly held the title of Major Alberto Torres with Civil Air Patrol United States Air Force Auxiliary.
Though Alberto was fiercely devoted to serving his country, he was above all else a soldier for our Lord. Alberto was deeply devoted in his faith and a fervent servant of God.
He is preceded in death by brother Gadiel, his father Eugenio Torres, and niece Kalehila. He is survived by a family he dearly cherished, and in return they admired him and were so proud – his wife of over 22 years, Mavelie Vega-Torres; children Christopher A. Cordero and Natalie M. Cordero Vega; grandchildren Melanie J. Smith, Josiah Q. Smith, and Sadie Cordero; mother Eliza Andujar Torres; four brothers; and 17 nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends and loved ones who knew and loved him throughout his church and community.
