Title: Video Games
Post by: ♠SARKID♠ on January 06, 2008, 05:05:17 AM
What games does everyone play?  I know this is a somewhat older crowd, but we should see if theres any games that we can meet and play together!

Flight Sim X
Medal of Honor: Spearhead/Allied Assault
Battlefield: WWII/Vietnam/BF2

I played World of Warcraft for about a week, and about 5 minutes ago I said "heck with $15 a month for a mediocre game."  Items given away, account deleted, uninstalled, regain of 5gigs of hard drive space.

I'm more of a sports gamer personally. But I have played and beaten all SOCOMs, Medal of Honors and managed to fly all planes on MS Flight Simulator 2004 for at least 20 hours each. I know, I have a lot of time on my hands.  :D

This is what I play:

Flight Sim X
Falcon 4.0 Allied Force
Minesweeper

And yes I do realize Minesweeper is not a video game, but it's the only game that I find I can play on almost any computer I'm on.  And if someone can beat my high score of 80 seconds on expert on minesweeper, I'd like to know.

Put the video games down and go run.  Go play outside.  Go walk your dog.  Go do something productive.

How many kids that play video games more than 30 minutes a day are overweight?

I theoretically have Medal of Honor, but while chasing a one year old around, working full time and being a full time student, my computer is basically business end only.

I can do that with my PSP, but it's cold, snowy and icey outside at the moment.  We just let the cat out and she walks herself.

Currently on my play list:

I was a pretty big LAN gamer, mostly in the Quake genre, QIII being the ultimate for me, hosting parties on a regular basis, and before I had kids the day after Thanksgiving was always a full-day party.

I got the new Wolfenstein 3d and something about seeing a guys brain splattered against the wall through a scope literally turned me off gaming.  It was like a switch.  QIII was "pretend gory" in an unreal world.

The "death" of my beloved Panther XL joystick didn't help, either.  Its still works great, but I'm 100% notebook and the PXL does not work well without a native joystick port.

The only thing I've played since that was any fun was a little Max Payne 2 and Midnight Run (which is awesome).

Same deal as Mike.  Wisconsin is not outdoor activities friendly from about late Sept to late March.

Hmm...seems there isn't a game that everybody seems to play.

I've been playing Battlefield 2: Modern Combat as of late. That's when I have time inbetween work and school and everything else.

It just bothers me to see lots and lots of overweight kids (cadets included) who either wonder why they're overweight or don't care yet will spend 3 to 5 hours a day playing video games.  I've lived in snowy envirornments before, we made use of the snow either for fun or training.  Anyway, I won't top drift this anymore.

Besides, I showed you what I'm playing.  Got it for Christmas and it's still in the box.  I'll hook it up one day.
