Hi All,

Just want to put a quick message out to anyone on here that might be going to NCC this coming week. I'll be there as primary escort of the Great Lakes Region drill team.

I'm rather excited to be going to my first ever 'national' level event and that it's NCC. I'm really looking forward to meeting folks from NHQ and from all over the country, especially our Alaskan members who'll be there!

If you're there, make sure to find me at the 'meet and greet' on Thursday evening and say 'Hi!'

DC

I won't be there, but one of my cadets is on the SER Color Guard. Fingers crossed!

I'll be there amongst the notorious "white hats" :)  Good luck to your team.  I can't guarentee when I'll be around during the "free time." since I'll be working my job remotely, but I'll make sure to say hi at some point.

Well, I 've met Captain B and kpetersen, both great people! So far, so good. They cadets are taking the written test right now and after that they'll be playing each other in volleyball.

I hope to get more sleep tonight than I did last night. The beds in the dorms are not exactly comfortable, and I have to almost hop up into it, and I'm 6'2"! lol

^ Who seems to be "crushing the other teams" so far??

Crushing? I don't remember that being one of the activities at NCC. I'd say SER and SWR are the top contenders here for DT anyways, since that is what I'm paying attention to, as I'm with my drill team from GLR.

I'd love to comment more on my personal feelings about how things with the competition have been going, but I'd do best to keep that off the forum for right now.

They did do one thing nice this year and bought black t-shirts with the NCC logo on the front left breast, and the list of sponsors logos (NMAF, WSU, SCC, Sprint, Cessna, Cintas and onpoint) who have contributed to NCC in one form or another on the back.

A blog has been setup to share information and photos about the competition, the URL is:

There are a LOT of great photos from the first day of competition!

^ Whooo boy am I proud of my cadets. :)

Had a great time at NCC. I really enjoyed meeting everyone. It was a refreshing activity where everyone was very friendly and supportive of one another.

OK, I have to ask: who is Capt B?  Were you an escort for FLWG CG?  I know you are in one of my 2000 photos somewhere!

Maj Ballard

Yep... I was the female escort for the FLWG CG... My last name's Ballard.
