Under VFR conditions an experienced pilot would figure this out pretty fast, but in IFR this could be deadly

Even planes with steam gauges, in some cases, may be susceptible to this, depending on what other avionics they have installed.

CANBus is in everything these days. Including the products my company makes. I have a USB-to-CANBus adapter sitting here on my desk.  Hmmmmm....

First of all, ANY system that you can gain physical access to is hackable...
That's a fundamental tenet of security...   not really newsworthy.

Second of all I was expecting this article to be something like from the movie The Net
