Title: Distractions
Post by: SunDog on May 07, 2014, 09:20:10 PM
Extracted from an article by Thomas Turner. . .I'm just saying, ya know?

Major transgressions like forgetting to remove. . .a tow bar suggest distraction during the preflight inspection. Common preflight distractions include. . .texts, emails or cell phone calls. . ., focusing on unrelated stresses . . .

Turn off your cell phone. . . as you approach the airplane. Leave it turned off until after landing unless you need it for purposes strictly related to flying the airplane, such as a call to check TFRs or to pick up a clearance. . . focus your attention on the flight, not other irrelevant. . .ground-based distractions.

Good logic for using a "one call" FRO, and for avoiding the dispatcher-wannabe  types. . .
