;)now who is going to FL wing winter encampment?
im not, i prefer the summer encampments:)
I am going as a member of the PAO staff. This will be my third SER/FLWG winter encampent, and my 4th overall (ILWG SE)
Jayz what are you going as?
I'm not, but a few of my cadets are.
Darn i wish I had known about this one. My daughter needs an encampment but cannot attend summer ones as she goes to Alaska for the summer to work on a missionary airbase.

It's not too late to send in the paperwork.
Can you post the website address?

If you get some flak, let me know I will makes some calls.
Why would there be any "flak"?
If you get any "flak" let me know! The phone calls come to me. The application deadline for basic cadets is Dec 12th. If you have any problems before then call me. Please understand that after the deadline, you might not get a callback until after encampment.
I am still accepting senior member applications for staff. If you can not attend the entire week how about teaching a class or two? Or being a van driver one day?

Lt. Col. Hartigan did such a good sales job that I am now on board. Comms/TAC/whatever else he sandbags me with. :)
Anyone have an encampment update? Is there a website?
Didn't want to call and bug them, just wondering if any photos or newsletters (Daily Doolie?) were posted.

They are being produced but thus far not posted publicly.
I heard that the encampment has not been going well. Problem with micromanagement??
Yes we could use a sitrep for encampment!
I saw that coming
Wow no update, anyone?
Couldn't have been THAT bad
Any banquet fiascos?
Flight themes?

Someone knows something..............don't keep us in suspense. Better to hear it here than on Youtube.
Actually........lets lock this one up. This is only leading to bashing of individuals and that Encampment.
I would like to see some pics, though!!
I don't think I'm violating any confidence, since an announcement was sent to the entire wing, but those cadets -- who reportedly had some rank -- were sent home for not adhering to proper decorum.
I'm hoping that if there's any relevance to our squadrons' cadet operations, at least a confidential e-mail will be sent to squadron commanders to enlighten them -- for future preventative reasons.
I'm sure the speculation will fly like birds at the end of a much-used runway, but I hope we can read between the lines and let this discussion end, if for no other reason than for the sake of the cadets involved.
Decorum...
So they were sent home for yelling or hazing?
Are there any pictures or daily doolie things up somewhere?
I think you've heard all that you are going to hear on this forum, so why not let it rest?
I was there and have knowledge of what went on, but do not feel comfortable releasing what Wing did not; nor do I have anything to comment regarding the Encampment in general other than to say that the training was accomplished, the food was outstanding, and I met some outstanding members from both the Cadet and Senior corps.
I haven't gone through the 2500 pictures (or so) that I took, but if the thread remains open, I'll post a few later this week, perhaps.

My understanding was that Wing would be publishing both, but I know nothing beyond that.
Whoa, what a tone for this thread. Ok....
Waiting on those pics. If it gets closed, than someone just start another thread just for pics of the encampment and no speculatin' or rumorin'.

No need to leave everyone in suspense. You didn't have to post that. All we want are your pictures. We would be very happy. I have a Nephew who attended, I also know what went on, but I just want to see if I can see him in any pics. So, when this gets closed later today or tomorrow (we know it will) will you please start up a new thread just for the pics, or direct us to where they are located?!?
I have had people ask me in PM what happened (and several others know that I went), and wanted to state my position publicly.
If you let me know who your nephew is, I'll see if I have pics of him. I'm just about to leave for a business trip, so it won't be for a few days.
If you weren't there, don't care.
It was an overall fun encampment. I hope wing posts all of the pictures I took for PAO (must of been a few hundred). I will be posting some videos on YouTube that I took of the flights doing their motivational chants, and some I staff I liked being on support staff because it wasn't stressful. Twas my favorite staff encampment. Also we now have an offical Hat Nazi on CapTalk :cough:Tomasone:cough:
Godwins law, that didn't take long... :D

Participation in the team building exercise AFAIK.
Wow, great photos, and great job!.  I can see some of them being used for recruiting!!
The one of Pineda throwing the frisbee is just awesome. Where are the pictures from the GLPs? Were they deamed not suitable for public view ;)

Many of them could be taken the wrong way without the proper context, so yes, I didn't include them here. Some were just too darn goofy (they usually included Cadet Shari... ;D).
By request...
Thanks Joe for the pic and putting up with that little punk. He makes it a point to visit hospitals ever encampment he has been to so I have been told.

Hey, glad to help him keep his streak alive... Outside of his Texas-sized hatred for Yanks (but boy, did I get him for that one!), he was a pleasure to work with.

Ah, posting my Flight's pinecone. Good times. I still have hair in that picture... before Chief Harb shaved it all off. :o
Thank you for the pictures, Sir! I hope to see more soon. :)

Come to my ACUT class @ MacDill on Saturday and I can arrange that. :)
Group 8's having Oflights, and I have Honor Guard practice, all on the same day as the Acut class. :(
Is there still going to be one on the 31st at Group 8 HQ?

We are getting off-topic, but that is not on my calendar to instruct. Perhaps someone else is?

There's powered orientation flights here at CLW tomorrow. Because of that, many of us (myself included -- sorry, Joe) won't be at MCF for the ROA class. But I'll be sending cadets to the ROA class 31 Jan at SPG. So, Cadet Airidok, yes, there's an ROA class at St. Pete.
If you're up here for the flights tomorrow, see you then. I'll probably wind up confined in my office part of the morning if I'm not careful (I'd rather be flying).
Also: We're doing glider orientation flights the 24th. If you're interested in coming along with us, make sure it's OK with your squadron commander, then let me know. I'm sure we'll have a couple of open seats.
