Title: Which board for aviation accidents?
Post by: simon on May 25, 2010, 11:04:18 PM
I should preface this by asking the question whether it is appropriate to discuss this at all on a public Internet forum.

This isn't an official CAP forum. Nobody at CAP approves anything mentioned here.

But if it is kosher, I'd like to discuss some aspects of accidents where CAP members were involved in the operation. For example, where the glider went missing in the Sierras earlier this year - things like how was the search run, strategies by the pilots in dealing with the high altitudes and turbulence around that area.

I am not sure where, if anywhere, these kinds of discussions go on at CAP Talk. I thought it would be enlightening.

If CAP is involved, then it generally gets moved to ES & Ops.  Other incidents which have no CAP involvement beyond the pilot being a member would best fit in Aviation & Flying Activities.
