I was wondering if anyone had every considered starting a website that offered real time chat and that would require CAP membership to use. It seems like it might be a good way to fellowship and exchange ideas with members we might not otherwise ever meet.

Just a thought...I now return you to your regularly scheduled diversions

The now defunct CAPBoard had a chat room... it was rarely used.  A few sites have had shout boxes, but they have a tendency to be targeted by spammers.

Not sure if having one of these would be a good idea... It might draw some of the chatter off the forum and put it in a more appropriate venue.  Moderation would probably be an issue.

Also you would be cutting some people off. Several that post on CAP Talk are not current members. Either 2B'd, burned out, or heavy work schedule caused non-renewal. You would be eliminating their experience and knowledge. Granted, some might not be welcome, but in general by requireing CAP membership to also cut off a possible new member from gaining information on CAP.
