Roger Wayne Pearce, 88, of Manassas, Virginia passed away peacefully Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his home. He was born on March 24, 1935, in Exeland, Wisconsin, the son of Glen & Eliza (Lida Sheadel) Pearce. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers Harold (Hack), Richard (Dick) & Charles (Chuck). Surviving in addition to his wife, Carmen (Corea) Pearce are his son, John Pearce, wife Allyson (Mongrain) and two grandchildren Patrick & Anastasia (Annie), of Centreville, Virginia. Also surviving are his daughter Lisa (Pearce) Haas and her husband J.R. Haas and three step grandchildren, Nathan, Abby & Casey of Eldorado Hills, California. In May 1969, he married his wife Carmen Corea & celebrated 54 years of marriage. He received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin (1959) & a Masters from the University of Wyoming (1961). After college, he served in the Air Force for four years. He was employed by the IBM Corporation for 30+ years, and the Lockheed Martin Corporation for five years as a Senior Development Engineer. He worked primarily in Computer Development (Owego, NY), Sonar Hardware Development for Fast Attack & Ballistic Missile Nuclear Submarines (Manassas, VA). He had an opportunity to support month long submarine tests, while at sea. He retired from IBM in 1994 & from Lockheed Martin Corporation in 1999. Roger held a Pilot license for 33 years. He was a member of the local Civil Air Patrol (an Air Force Auxiliary) for thirty-three years. Roger was an avid snow skier. As a charter member, he assisted in creating the Triple Cities Ski Club (Binghamton, New York). Additional sports included Football, Boxing, Baseball & Water Skiing, sometimes with a "Kite" (i.e. Hang Glider.
