Jack Prince, 87, formerly of Cheyenne, went to be with his creator and Lord Jesus Christ on Dec. 6.

He was married to the love of his life, Jeannie, for 66 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, role model and friend to many.

Jack was born Sept. 12, 1931, in Cheyenne to Frances Hamilton and Earnest Moon. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Chet Prince, with support from his aunt and uncle, Thelma and Clark Peterson, and grandmother, Mary Fitzgerald. He spent most of his childhood in Denver.

Jack was truly a "jack of all trades," talented in a number of ways; athlete, artist, author, Bible teacher, pilot and administrator.

He graduated from Denver North High School. He was an accomplished athlete while in school. He played football, was an all-state gymnast, swimmer and Colorado State diving champion.

His gymnastic and diving ability led him to join The Clyde Beatty Circus during his late teen years. He was a clown as well as a trampoline and trapeze artist. He even wrote a book about his experience in the circus called "Circus Dreams Fulfilled."

He served his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, with stops in Texas, California and Japan.

He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado after his military service with degrees in teaching and psychology.

He worked as a principal, teacher and coach at Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Colo.; an instructor at Aims Community College in Greeley, Colo., head gymnastics coach/instructor at the Eastern New Mexico University; audio visual director for Colorado State University and the University of Colorado; a salesman for CBS educational materials (BFA), being the top salesman in his region; and he finished his career at the state Department of Education in Cheyenne working as the director of the audio visual library, and school for the deaf (Casper).

He volunteered for the Wyoming Civil Air Patrol for many years and became commander. He also volunteered at Aspen Winds Retirement home as a Bible teacher. Jack was a member of Meadowbrook Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jeannie; daughter, Paula; sons, Michael (Kathy), Grady (Vicki) and Christopher (Jill);  his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Meghan), Kelly (Sean), Danny, Tawny, Heather (Chris), Sean, Taylor, Trenton and Trinity; his great- grandchildren, Macy, Jack, Vivian, Mike, Eric, Austin, John, Luke, Ryleigh and  Oliver; niece, Doranne (Miguel); sisters, Ginny Scofield and Pam Mulherin; and many friends.

His hobbies included studying the Bible, fishing, flying, trampoline, watching the Broncos, computer, writing, drawing, illustrating, watching old movies like Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy, and spending time with his beloved dachshunds, Tizzy and Cocoa.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Per his request, no service will be held.
