Interesting. But until I am on a plane headed to the AO, that is all it is...

How many of y'all have ever been in an earthquake? A big one, 4.0 or bigger?

Okay, we'll make this a bit harder. How many of you have been in a 6.0 or higher earthquake?
I have, a few times more then once!

SarDragon

You don't count, Phil.

So, a couple of you. My point is that earthquakes do not fit into humor very well. I was 30 miles from the World Series/Bay Area quake in 1989, and 130 miles from the 4/5/2010 Easter quake, which was equally intense at my location. I also spent 9 years in Japan, experiencing little and medium jiggles at least once a week.

I was in one in CA back in 91(?) centered in LA. Can't remember the rating but it was freaky.

That was probably the 6.3 that I managed to sleep through...

It was early morning, I was still asleep. I thought my roommate was shaking my bed wanting a cigarette. Then I opened my eyes and saw the room was shaking.

I wanted a cigarette because the room was shaking...

Lived in Japan for a total of 15 years.....rode out a lot of Magnitude 4's.   Caught the edges of a couple of 7's and one 8!
