They did award those AOPA flight scholarships for adults afterall, apparently to:

I haven't heard AOPA would be makin gthis money avail every year, 10k is a hefty annual contribution to impact four people (2adults, 2cadets). However you would apply by the deadline (I believe 31Dec) on the standard scholarship form. There are a range of educational & technical scholarships avail to adults as well that go un-tapped.

Never heard of adult monies avalible till I read this thread.

It's with all the other scholarship stuff, just look around NHQ site.
