I laid the blue utility uniform I got from you-know-who on top of one of my issued flight suits to see where to place the chest velcro. Besides trying to place the command patch velcro, the velcro for the name tag was too short. I also found out the pockets are much lower than on the nomex flight suit. Anyone have any ideas for how high I should put the chest velcro, i.e. what looks right? Horizontally, they should be centered between the zipper and shoulder seam I'm sure. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem, but just removed them and replaced them by eye.

Use the "TLAR" algorithm to figure it out.

I've had to replace the in-place Velcro "loop" on virtually every blue flight/jumpsuit I've ever had...VG or not.

Fortunately, you can get cut, perfectly-sized rectangles of Velcro from hobby and fabric shops with adhesive on the back.  Put that in place, let dry for a couple of hours, stitch over it (the adhesive is fairly strong, but...) and you're GTG.
