Safety Officer Assignment

Reading through CAPR 62-1 section 3b.   Says

b. Within 90 days of appointment, each safety officer shall complete the AFIADL Course 02170, entitled "CAP Safety Officer" or equivalent training

What is considered equivalent training?

I know of a few that have had extensive training in Industrial jobs that fit the bill, one even got promoted to Maj. for his knowledge.  The regs by its definition is very vague and subjective.  You might want to ask the Group or Wing Safety Officer as to what they would consider adequate.

I have and they just say the members must have the ECI course within 90 days which at this point is impossible because he is already enrolled in CAPSOC.  I guess I'll just keep going up till I get an answer.

Oh, you can be enrolled in at least  two courses at one time.  Three at the max, as far as I know.
