I just got finished with a new craft project Corporate Field Uniform, and
wanted to plug Aleene's Fabric Glue.

For years I've been using iron-on adhesive, and while it works great, can be an issue
when the iron is too hot with ruining bright insignia, etc.
I found this glue to have excellent adhesion, especially if you can let things dry overnight
with a weight on them, and best of all, it washes out with first laundry, so
smears disappear.
Highly recommended.
Fabric glue to place the insignia, then sew down and wash to remove glue?

Good one! But thank you for the recommendation, as I know a lot of people in my squadron are looking to iron on patches and whatnot, so I'll see if this stuff can help them out.

Correct - this is not a permanent adhesive. It feels like it could be used in a pinch,
but my use was in positioning various insignia for sewing.
Been using Elmer's School Glue for this for years. It's water based and washes out in one or two trips through the washing machine.
