Today is CAPTalk's third anniversary!

Our first and second anniversaries only seem like a few months ago.  The time has certainly gone by quickly.

This year has seen an explosion in site activity.  Instead of a few hundred posts a month, we're seeing thousands of posts per month; August set that record with over 8,000 posts.  New members continue to flow in almost every day and we're seeing from 300,000 to over 500,000 hits each month.

The increase in site traffic has brought a few challenges, including site capacity issues and maintaining decorum at times.  However, overall the CAPTalk community continues to flourish and provide a wealth of information and resources to CAP members at all echelons.

As we enter our fourth year of operation, my vision for the site is simple.  I expect that CAPTalk will continue to grow as a valuable resource and tool for every CAP member.  The newest CAP members and squadrons will to come here for advice, information, tips and experience.  CAP members at the highest echelons will garner important feedback from the field and perhaps even glean a few new ideas from our membership's collective experience.

CAPTalk, as a resource, is only as good as the members who share.  Thank you to all of you who post here and ask questions, answer questions, share your successes and failures, offer critiques, foster new ideas, field concepts and offer suggestions.  Your input is very important here whether you just joined CAP yesterday or you're pinning that "50" device to your Red Service ribbon.  Everyone brings unique perspectives, experiences and ideas to CAPTalk.

On behalf of Jerry and the dedicated moderating team, we look forward to another year with all of you.

Sincerely,
Mike Kieloch

Good Work Mike, and well done to all the MODS!

You all rock, whether it is putting up with peoples crap, or keeping us in-line.

This is by far the best site for CAP-Discussions out there!

Thanks   :-*

There is a place in heaven for Web-moderators... NO, no... I'm sorry I meant, there is a place at Starbucks for Web-moderators. Yes, that's it... Starbucks.

Congratulations! This is more than a virtual community. This is a real one.

Quite true.  We had a list of names and asked a group of people to vote on their favorite. And, voila!  I can't remember what the other names were, though. How time flies...
