Title: Geocache and GT's
Post by: Horn229 on April 04, 2005, 03:06:51 AM
I've started getting interested in Geocaching, and was wondering if anyone else has done it and how it's affected you (if at all) in the GT area. It's seems like it would really test how well you know your GPS and how far you can go (depending on the terrain), but other than that I'm wondering what else it'll do to test you.

I've found that it's been beneficial in teaching UDF/GTMs about GPS in general, as well as proper techniques for tasks such as line searches, etc.

Since many are placed in "interesting" locations, Geocaching encourages GTMs to use critical thinking skills... ie: what's the best way to enter an area of rough terrain?
