Is the Commander's Commendation strictly an individual award or could a unit be awarded it.  It seems there is no way for a unit to be recognized by region; unit commendations are awarded by wing, and the NCUC is awarded by the national commander. Any thoughts?

Commander's Commendations are an individual award and also approved by wing.

A unit citation is the only unit-level award and not that big a deal to get if the situation warrants it and the 120 is written properly.

Region certainly could award a Unit Citation, or any other dec as it sees fit.

Comm Comms are actually authorized at 3 levels by a wing commander, by a region commander or by the national commander.  Which one issued the award is indicated by the device on the ribbon (none for wing, bronze star for region, and silver star for national) but if its an individual award that answers my question.  Thanks

I have three Green Weinies, and all of them were awarded directly by National. Two were to CA Wing, and the third to NER.
