I heard that the wingpatch on the blues now has to be replaced with an American flag.  Any ideas?

BillB

Whatever you heard, it's not true. All the National Board did was remove the wing patch from the blues. The reverse flag is worn on the right shoulder of BDUs

So there wouldn't be any patch on the blues uniform?

Al Sayre

Correct.  Go to CAPM 39-1 and read the latest revision letters and updates on www.cap.gov

Or search the word here, cadetstuff, or capblog...

In the pictures in the new manual the cadets still had the wingpatch on their blues uniform.

Yes, for all reading this - a pitfall of CAP membership  is relying solely on one published doc as the authority for nearly anything.

You have to be current on the addemdums and supplements as well.

And if you look close enough at CAPR 39-1, you'll notice no one bothered to check the male cadet officers for correct ribbon order.    Oops.

There are a plethora of uniform errors in the photos that our Uniform Manual uses to show us proper wear.  It's actually pretty amusing, seeing as how they had 7+ years to compile the latest version.

Yes. Basically the Wing patch is removed (blues). Why don't ask me!?!  The reversed flag (BDU's) isn't mandatory until January 2007.  Or was it February?  No it was January!! But just put the flag on now.

Actually it's 1 April 2007... It was originally supposed to be 1 June 2006 but has been extended by the following policy letter:
CAP/CC Letter, Changes to CAPM 39-1, CAP Uniform Manual
