My 12-year-old son just joined. Unfortunately he cannot attend his wing's summer encampment due to a previously-scheduled activity. What wings will be hosting a winter encampment later this year?

Ozzy

Hi there! Right now NHQ only has the 2016 Winter encampments below, you can check the individual encampment websites there.

https://www.capmembers.com/cadet_programs/activities/encampment/winter-2016-encampments

Spring and Summer encampments up here:
https://www.capmembers.com/cadet_programs/activities/encampment/springsummer-2017-encampments/

They haven't updated the winter's yet but it should be about the same time and Wings this year.

CTWG Encampment 09, 11, 16
NER Cadet Leadership School 10
GAWG Encampment 18, 19
FLWG Winter Encampment 19

And ultimately, if nothing is available in price/proximity, waiting until next summer isn't the end.

He can always attend a summer encampment with another Wing, rather than wait for the winter

Historically, Kansas and New Hampshire have a winter encampment.  Some of our cadets went to Kansas last year and had good things to say. I've been to the NH activity and can also recommend that to you as a good group of folks run that.  They also usually have an NCO leadership academy and RCLS that they run during the same week.

Alaska Wing will be hosting a joint encampment with Oregon in late December/Early January.

There has been discussion, but I wouldn't rely on it happening in 2017.

Incase you don't like cold weather during the winter, TX wing has a winter encampment, its a lot warmer

Most of the time, but there have been some really cold TX winter encampments.

VAWG has just decided not to do a winter encampment this year.

Florida always has one at Tyndall, AFB over the Christmas break. Mild weather on the panhandle.

Scuttlebutt was USAF funded airlift from JBLM.

That is the first time I ever literally fell out of my chair laughing.

If I remember right, it was commercial flights from Alaska to Oregon last year, haven't heard anything for this year, besides I'm driving
