My wife just informed me that one of the characters in a book she was reading was in the Civil Air Patrol.  I thought it was pretty cool and asked her to show it to me.  The book is called "Up Close and Dangerous" by Linda Howard.  She pointed me to the following passage: "and got his occasional dose of drama by joining the Civil Air Patrol".

Drama, I wonder if she used Captalk as a research reference...LOL

Hmm... Project requests, ORM, safety briefings, lots of regs with lots of different interpretations, the occasional run in with a member of the "Church of CAP Regs", frequent run ins with members of the "Church of Uniforms", and more ORM. Sounds pretty dramatic for me.
