Hello i recently came back to CAP after a LONG vacation from it and want to know how a SDA is done.

You do research on what it takes to perform that duty, various responsibilities of it, and you write it up in laymen's terms, where applicable. You basically need to be able to explain in one source, be it paper, or reading that paper to someone, what that position is all about and what they would encounter while performing it.  There's an outline for it.

By the time you reach that stage of being required to do them, you should be a little familiar with how to find specific topics within our publications.

Check out http://members.gocivilairpatrol.com

Click on Forms Regs and Pubs (there on the left)
Then pick pamphlets
Scroll down and find CAPP 52-14
Read it, it has instructions, and an example SDA in there that you can copy for format

When Your SDA calls for referencing regs you will find them in the same place as the 52-14 (above)

Oh also check out this thread,

It has pre-built templates that you can just fill in.
