130th Composite Squadron
Minnesota Wing

Ulrich W. Roedder
March 9, 1948 - October 29, 2022

Ulrich W. Roedder, age 74, of Lakeville, MN passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on October 29, 2022. Ulrich was born March 9, 1948 in Troisdorf, Germany to Franz Wilhelm and Johanna Gertrud Roedder. Ulrich courageously fought multiple myeloma for nearly 3 years and was known by family, friends, and medical personnel for his remarkable positivity. He was educated in Germany in electronics for TV and Radio Repair and furthered his education to the level of "Meister" at the age of 21. He built on this knowledge and became proficient with both computer hardware and software. In 1989 he and his wife started their own company and then in 1999 moved to Minnesota.  In 2002 he proudly became a dual citizen by adding U.S. Citizenship. Becoming a pilot later in life fulfilled a passion and offered him the opportunity to change his career. He was an active member in Civil Air Patrol for over 20 years. Ulrich's greatest pleasure in life was traveling with his wife. He meticulously planned lengthy road trips and cruises taking them throughout Europe, South America, the Panama Canal, and to nearly every state in the United States. These memories provided much diversion during the past couple of years. He is preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law Charles and Harriet Thor. Ulrich is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Rosanna; daughter Sara (Jeff) Murphy; grandchildren Declan and Greta; brother Arno (Helga) Roedder; sisters-in-law Connie (Ken Dallmann and Lorelie (John) Davis; brother-in-law Vernon (Turid) Thor; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
