Ossining - Joseph Edward Wooley Sr., a resident of Ossining, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. Joseph was born in NYC on September 30, 1947 and was the son on the late Herbert and Jane (Landers) Wooley. He was 72.

Joe grew up in Ardsley and was a graduate of Stepinac High School in 1965. He then joined the Air Force an was assigned to the Phuket AFB in Vietnam as a survival specialist instructor. After his discharge in 1969, he went to work for the NY Telephone CO. while attending Iona College. He received his BA in 1981 and then went to Pace University Law School. He the established his law firm, Joseph E. Wooley, ESQ.

Joe was a coach and past president of Elmsford little league, and a coach for the Dad's Club Soccer. He was a past president of the Greenburgh Central School District BOE and Past President of the Southern Westchester BOCES school board. Joe was also a district leader for the Greenburgh Democrat Party. Mr. Wooley was a LT. Commander in the Civil Air Patrol and served as Commander of the Southeast Group. He was a Colonel in the NY Guard, and was a Knight Templar.

Mr. Wooley is survived by his wife of 46 years, Stephanie (Chiarello). They were married on September 22, 1973. He is also survived by his three children- Joseph, Jr. (Jennifer), Matthew (Suzanne) and Amanda (Matthew) DeRosa, his two siblings, Robert and Jane; his seven grandchildren, Samantha, Ava, Nicholas, Andrew, Matty, Stephanie, and Annie. He was predeceased by his daughter Patricia.
