I read some good advice on the dual memberships in the CAP and USCGA. I took the advice into consideration and got appointed a Marine Safety Officer in the USCGA. It is a new adventure in a field if Safety I have limited experience in. I hope to be learning a lot.

Anyone on the forum been in the Marine Safety Role before?

Or maybe find a USCGA forum to pose this question on since it has absolutely nothing to do with CAP?

There are people on this forum that have had experience in both and have spoken about both. If you don't want to respond that is fine but why demean a simple question or request?

Some people just can't resist the urge to be "that guy."

I'm not demeaning it.  I'm simply asking why you wouldn't pick a USCGA forum to pose that question on?  It would be relevant to 100% of the members of that forum.  Whereas, here, it is irrelevant to the vast majority.

Either way it is ok.

I think we can safely call this one. If you want to talk CGAux, there are boards out there.

If anyone who has experience in both organizations wants to give the OP help/advice, please PM directly.
If you are confident in you abilities and experience, whether someone else is impressed is irrelevant. - Eclipse
