That'll cost you a KB!

And hawkeye, what's an Armature radio? I've heard of motor and generator armatures, but nothing like what you mentioned.  :)

Because I am not into amateur radio...

Outside of work (where I spend 40 plus hours a week sitting in front of a Motorolla MCS 2000 and a Motorolla GTX...both of which suck by the way), I only deal with CAP radio communications.

N0CAP has worked 50 stations today.  Not a lot, but it has been fun.

Was at field day several times today. But my 5 watt hand held VHF didn't produce any response. Sun spots killed VHF So I shot video of the activity including shots of the County Sheriff who visited the Ham Club Field Day site.  About 50% of the available channels on my hand held are various CAP frequencies, and only four ham repeater frequencies are installed.

I did it last night.  Spent more time coaching the younger hams than actually operating.  I have no idea how the club did because I ended up having to work when they were doing all the totaling.

C'mon, this is ham radio.  The real question is: Where's all the motorized power chairs?  :D
