The conferences are always in the same cities, San Antonio, St Louis, Washington D.C., Reno, Vegas, and New Orleans. Only one in NER in the last 30 years. The site is only selected about 15-18 months out. most corperation schedule 5 years out.  The Regions should rotate in hosting the conference. In addition National should look into having a commercial travel agency  coordinate the rooms and travel to keep costs down. (Carlson-Wagonlite does a lot of this for the military). I would think this would not only cut costs for all concerned, but also make money for the corperation through commisions from the travel agency. We should also stay away from Vegas and Reno. How can we tell parents that we are looking out for our cadets when they have to walk through a casino to get to their rooms or to the restaurant.  I have also been a big advocate of finding a college or University with dorms and classrooms during the summer. minimal cost-same benefits.

Seriously The Air Force Academy here in Colorado, is the place. Fewer tornadoes and mosquitoes than the Midwest. Fewer earthquakes and forest fires than California. No hurricanes, smaller bugs, and less humidity than the Southeast US. Cheaper than New York, Las Vegas, or Chicago. Closer to big air hubs than most places. Cooler by 10 degrees than any other place in the US other than Maine and Alaska... plus it's the AIR FORCE Academy with tours of Space Command, Cheyenne Mountain, Garden of the God's, Pikes Peak Gog Railway and the magnificently cheesy "Santa land" close at hand.

I couldn't agree more. In addition to the fine points listed above, travel options are multiplied with both the Colorado Springs and Denver airports within reasonable driving distance (30 and 75 minutes drive, respectively).  In addition to the AFAcademy, Colorado Springs is also home to NORAD, Schriever AFB (50th Space Wing), Fort Carson, and Peterson AFB (home to the Colorado Wing of CAP). (Disclosure: I live in CO   ;D).

^ It is settled then....Denver shall be the location.  I haven't been to Colorado in almost 10 years.....time for a return!

I loved Denver BTW.  I would not mind vacationing there again!!

If you're coming to Colorado, please remember we are a mile high and simply don't have enough oxygen for everybody, so it's best to bring your own. With regards; ED OBRIEN

The 2002 National Conference was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania --- which is in the NER, unless PAWG has withdrawn  ;D  It was in Cinncinati either in 98 or 99 (can't remember which).

Why not have each region host a national board meeting within there region. They in turn could have a wing within there region be host for that region. This would preclude the ability to have a repeat of the same location that would happen only once every fifty two years. I could see a national board meeting in Alaska, Puerto Rico, or Hawaii. Travel may be a problem.

The NB spends too much on airfare already for what they bring in - we'd have to raise membership dues... >:D

Don't forget the awesome selection of breweries up here in Northern Colorado!  New Belgium, O'Dells, Fort Collins Brewery, Estes Park,  I could go on and on....  Oh yeah, Budweiser.  ;-)

Of course you must be 21 years of age or over to truly enjoy those tourist attractions.

If we are talking breweries we need to hold the thing in Boston... One of the few that I would fly a few hundred miles to tour

Like I said one in NER-Philly. The one before that was in 1976-32 years ago. Cincinnati is in GLR. I had used the cities that were repeated 2 or more times over the last 25 years. Obviously I left out the one time locations such as San Diego, Tampa, and Denver.

Is there a list available that shows all the locations over the past 25 years?  I only recall one being held in New Orleans, and that was in the early 90s.

I would lobby for one in New Orleans for many reasons, but the cooler weather up North in August could definitely sway my vote  ;D
