Anyone know of some good sources to get a quick battery replacement for the pointer ELT simulator transmitter ???

Eclipse

I had my Comm guy convert it to C-cells.  Much cheaper and available anywhere.

^ Second.

I went to batteries plus and for $40 I got a rechargeable pack.

Pointer is asking $30, but you have to throw the pack away when you are done.

We went to C's, and solar panel.  ELT fun in the sun  8)

How inconspicuous could you really make solar panels on a bright orange box?  Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Do tell, any pics?

We actually did a complete recase into an ammo can.

Another option is an R/C car battery set from 'the Shack' .. Comes with a nice charger, adapt the connector and do a little bit of mods to the bottom of the case inside the trainer. Or disassemble the R/C battery pack and put them in a similar configuration.

I also went to Batteries Plus and purchased the rechargable type batteries. I had an old charger at home that worked and the batteries have been used for over three years and no problem so far.

Converted to C-Cells.  I posted plans to do so on here some time ago.
