Daryl Lee Gordon, age 78, of Marysville, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at his home. He was an associate of American Electric Power in Dublin where he worked as an equipment operator for 29 years. A 1957 graduate of Columbus West High School, he joined the Air Force following graduation. He also volunteered with the Union County Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed reading and liked airplanes, aeronautics, space and science fiction. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved residing on the homestead of his grandparents, Crayton and Minnie Jackson Gordon. A "renaissance" man, his family described him as a "diamond in the rough." He was born July 21, 1939 in Columbus the only child to the late Paul and Thelma Shaw Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Craggs Gordon, whom he married December 15, 1963 in Columbus; two daughters, Ashley Lynn (Eric) Bell of Galena and Donna Franke of Marysville; five grandchildren, Garrett Franke, Devan Franke, Sierra Bell, Brittney Bell and Ellie Franke; his sisters-in-law, Barbara (Robert) Stump, Deborah (Patrick) Laughlin and Sandra (Daniel) Seymour; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, including Donald (Barbara) Bushong.
