What would be the motivation for the CAP folks to participation in a CG Aux vessel inspection station?  I suppose they could do it out of the goodness of their hearts as a squadron activity.  Maybe combine the VSC station with a carwash fundraiser for the CAP cadets?

They need real things to do.  A VSC day is real.  Is it as much fun as a SarEx?  Of course not, but it is real.  Somebody has to pitch the tents and ask the folks if they would like an examination.  Not as good as crowd control at airshow, but it has some merit.

Now, making the cadets go out and talk the boaters into the inspection would be great!  I hate that part, and how can they turn down the cute kids?

I have been thinking about your earlier comments, River, and I think that combining a Vessel Examination blitz with a boat washing program by the cadets would be ideal.
