Col. Larry D. Tasker
Wing Headquarters Squadron
Delaware Wing

Larry D. Tasker, age 77, passed away at home after a long debilitating fight, surrounded in the loving arms of his family June 2, 2018. His wonderful smile and quick sense of humor will be terribly missed.
He was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force where as a young man he made lifelong friends at various bases and spent a very memorable year at the base in Galena, Alaska. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol since 1964 and served as Delaware Wing Commander from 1984-1986. He served in various positions over the years but particularly enjoyed the cadet orientation flying most of all. Larry was a member of the Board of Directors of The Air Mobility Command Museum at DAFB from 2010-2014. Flying and his airplanes were a passion for him; he was a private pilot for many years and flew whenever he could from the beautiful grass strips of Smyrna Airport and most especially his last years flying and volunteering at Massey Airport and Museum.
Larry and his wife of 36 years also loved sailing on the Chesapeake Bay where his sailboats had a habit of growing larger when he added water. When the sailing ended in early 2002, the RV'ing began and he and Ruth Ann traveled across the country in camping comfort. He loved having his extended family all together at holidays and hearing about their exploits.
Larry worked at Seiberlich Trane for 26 years, retiring as Operations Manager in 1999. He then started his own company, Clayton Enterprises, a mechanical systems training and consulting company and spent 14 years traveling to various Trane offices throughout the country and locally as a consultant training service personnel. He had also been a Delcastle High School HVAC apprenticeship instructor, a Ferris State University EPA instructor and President of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Ruth Ann; children Brian Tasker (Tracie), and Kevin Tasker; stepchildren J. Raymond Teat (Regina), Richard Teat, Rebecca Cetola (Tom); 7 grandchildren, Shannon Forgie (Dave), Kara Teat, Kacy Teat, Ryan Teat, Kyle Teat, Jake Condron, Jenna Condron and 8 great grandchildren; Haylie Forgie, Ryleigh Forgie, Audrey Forgie, Blake Hopkins, Grace Hopkins, Cody Fulton, Alexis Fulton and Hayden Teat and his 2 brothers Terry Tasker (Vonnie) and Chris Hamilton (Joy).
