ILWG 2014 Senior Member Training and Professional Development Weekend

Illinois Wing is going to be hosting a training and professional development weekend, this training will consist of classes involving all aspects of the programs main missions and objectives.  The purpose of this event is to bring together all members in a structured classroom environment in order to not only complete required training but to also build Wing cohesiveness by enabling members to network with fellow members from outside their squadrons or groups.  Details of the event are below. 

Dates: 15-16 March 2014

Location: Illinois Military Academy - Camp Lincoln
     1301 N. MacArthur Blvd., Springfield, IL 62702

Cost: $40.00 per student the breakdown is $10.00 for room rentals and $30.00 for breakfast and lunch for both Saturday and Sunday.

Checks will be made out to "Civil Air Patrol, Illinois Wing", place in the memo line "PDO Weekend" and send to the Wing Administrator before the start of the event.  The mailing address is below

If the check is not received before the start of the event you will not be given credit for attendance.  Payment WILL NOT be received at the door.  Checks will be made out in the total for the cost of registration and meals with an additional cost for the lodging room, if one is staying at the location. 

Uniform of the Day: Air Force Service Uniform any combination, CAP Corporate Service Uniform (White and Gray), CAP Polo Shirt, or Professional Business Attire, (BDU's and Flight suits are not authorized, they are only authorized to those in flying status or those enrolled in the GIIEP Course)

Courses Offered:

All courses listed below occur on Saturday and Sunday unless otherwise noted.  Listed under each course title are the prerequisites or description for each course

Squadron Leadership School (SLS)
Have completed Level 1 of the Senior Member Training Program
Be enrolled in one or more specialty tracks

Corporate Leadership School (CLC)
Have completed Level 1 of the Senior Member Training Program
Must have completed SLS previously

Unit Commanders Course (UCC)
Have completed Level 1 of the Senior Member Training Program
Obtained at least one technician rating in any specialty track
Have completed SLS previously
Slotting priorities will be given to current Commanders and Deputies

Geospatial Information Interoperability Exploitation Portable Course (GIIEP) - Course Starts at 1300L on 14 March (Seats are limited, so please sign up early)
Qualified MS or UDF or GTM3 
At least 18 years of age
Experienced MS-Windows user

CISM - Peer and Individual Crisis Intervention
The class is designed to teach crisis intervention as it applies to assisting individuals in crisis
It is highly recommended for anyone who would like to serve on the ILWG CISM team
It builds on skills learned in the Group Crisis Intervention Class. However, the courses do not need to be taken in order
There will be an additional cost of $30.00 due to specific training material needing to be printed and an outside instructor being requested

Crisis Communications Plans and Public Affairs Plans (Saturday Only)
OH NO! You have to do a Crisis Communications Plan AND Public Affairs Plans? Where do you start? Attend this course and find out not only where to start but how to write them. Once written it only a matter of updating them. That's not all, Boilerplate news releases, and some PIOing.

Recruiting and Retention: The Driving Force Behind Building Productive Units (Sunday Only)
This 6hr in depth course will cover the steps and resources available to help create a customized Recruiting and Retention program geared for your Unit to increase membership and extend retention rates.
For those in the Recruiting & Retention track, this course will cover the "seminar" requirement to advance in your ratings.

Sign Up Procedures: All participants regardless of staff or student will sign up at the following link http://tiny.cc/41doax, if you are attending just the Wing staff meeting and no courses, please select under the course list "Wing Staff Member-Non Course Related".

Lodging is available on site, reservation information is included in the sign-up page. There are a total of three types of rooms available, Open Bay - Six Beds per room for $10.00/day, BEQ - two beds per room $20.00/day, and BOQ - a single bed for $25.00/day.  Payment will be sent to Illinois Wing for the total cost of room and the cost of attendance. 

Meals will also be provided and are included in the cost for attendance, if there are any special dietary needs please contact your course director.
