Those are some pretty awesome costumes. Screw the white-and-gray aviator shirt outfit, we should adopt Imperial uniforms.

I cant afford to make the armor with all my other hobbies, one of the big Star Wars based ones right now is the X-Wing miniatures tabletop game.
Funny you should mention X-Wing Miniatures game. I play that as well. :)

Yes, but it isn't Slave-1. It is the Firespray-31 piloted by a different bounty hunter. The name escapes me.

I just picked up all the ships from the newest wave, and the Raider is a little disappointing. I was expecting it to be larger, its the same size as the Corvette.

That's probably about the biggest ships will get in X-Wing.

Just going off of scale though I would have expected some difference in size. If you look at the same ships in the Armada game the raider is about 1.25-1.5x the size of the Corvette.
So, do you guys observe today, Force Friday, as a holiday? >:D
I got a pretty good haul for Force Friday. Including my ticket for a private screening of The Force Awakens.
Well, as for my non-CAP nerd hobbies, I game, mostly games from Blizzard Entertainment, but they are still games.
I'm actually branching out into public acceptance of my nerdness this year by going to the Heroes of the Storm Americas Championship on the 19th and to BlizzCon in November. I may get pictures.

World of Warcraft...I spend too much of what free time I have in that game...
I also play Elite:Dangerous, but I'm not home to grab any of the screenshots I have of my Eagle.
The wife and I did Blizzcon a couple of years ago, back when the Blizzard Bear Mount and the inflatable Bubble Hearth and Frostmourne was in the Goodie Bag.
Right now we're spending our MMORPG time in FFXIV:ARR.
Since this has turned into roughly a uniform topic, thought I'd chime in. I wish I had time to get the trooper gear. And the money. I would probably wear it to meetings (sorry, Spam!)

I used to play a lot of Blizzard's games and was even one of their Alpha/Beta testers from 2004-2012 when they decided that since I had not played WoW actively in about 6 months they were deactivating all of my accounts and I would have to buy new accounts for all the games to get my characters back.
But I play a lot of FFXIV, I'm on Cactar server.

Of course, Kevin, you've left yourself open to the Leia line: "Aren't you a little short for a Storm Trooper"? where the best cosplay prospects for me are Chewie and other XXL size outfits. I have to give props to anyone who chooses a JMS character from B5 as his screen name. I read that he made an announcement at Comic-Con last week that he's starting a reboot of Babylon 5, finally.
I've worn my share of odd outfits in my time, being a former Atlanta Star Trek Society member from '81, and former staff at a number of Cons from Dixie Trek to the Atlanta Fantasy Fair to Vulcon down in FL. I kept running across CAP members at all of them; what a dissolute lot we all are. The challenge for me was to, as Shatner said on SNL, "get a life", and turn what could have been an embarrassing social disorder into a productive and rewarding career path in aerospace! So, when cadets make references like "don't blink" and are surprised when I get it, I counter with a Whovian reference from Pertwee or Baker (either), and go Old Skool on them, yo.

1. These are all correct in scale to each other. The scale of the game is slightly skewed when it comes to the larger ships in the game like the Correlian Corvette.
2. The ship in the top left next to the Lambda Class Shuttle is an Imperial VT-49 Decimator. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/VT-49_Decimator (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/VT-49_Decimator)

1) yes
2) VT-49 Decimator
3) No it is the HWK 290 Light Freighter, the K-Wing just got released.

I looked at Armada but the rules require an engineering degree and the core set is outrageous in price! I have too much invested in X-Wing already and I like it. I think I'll stick with it.
I like the concept of the large fleet battles of Armada but the $100 core set is a no go.

Yep that is me. I have done infantry, artillery, and cavalry. I was a Captain and Chief of Scouts for awhile for Colonel Sam Lynn of the 4th NC. He also portrayed General Robert E. Lee for awhile. Currently I am part of Adam's Battery of the 13th North Carolina Light Artillery and an associate with Co. D 1st North Carolina Cavalry. I do portray a member of the 3rd US Artillery on occasions. When I was in the Cavalry originally I was a whole lot thinner back then.
If anyone wants to geek out with one of the best fan flicks made so far, I recommend I.M.P.S. The Relentless. There are currently two chapters released, each about 20 minutes long. The third chapter is currently overdue. No idea where they are at on it.

With all of us nerds, when is the CAPtalk play by text RPG game going to start?
With all the advances in gaming tech recently, there is no reason to play by text.

You going to DM? >:D

Neither. They have their own dice. And I checked. There is a script for EotE on Roll20.

I knew about TROOPS and IMPS but not the last one. Very cool and the Macross saga anime style is just great.

That was pretty good!
Buying some new BBDU's. But not for CAP. These are the two new costumes I am working on.

I'm a sad little human being. I read my drill manual in my spare time. Or read my leadership book. Or read regulations. Or research NCSA's... Yup, Nerd Extreme. (Goes back to reading drill manual)
Caponly. Sorry. That's not being a nerd. That's just being a good member of CAP.
Oh. Than I fail at being a nerd :(... Wait, does learning C++ and JavaScript in my spare time, along with making multiple games count?

Possibly. But we would have to play test them to verify your status as a nerd. Remember. Nerd is the new cool. And not everyone can pull it off. :)
Sweet, I'll try to get a copy out... Say, this seems like trying to verify you can read a map for GTM3!

Let me know if you start a game, I'm interested in trying out this system. Already have a character concept just need to build it.
Can we play Caverns of Draconis?
Of course!

Excelsior!!!! Someone got the reference!
And where did you dig up that picture of me anyway?
"Excelsior" should have a mandatory Stan Lee cameo, Kevin!
I fondly remember reading his Marvel Bullpen pages while waiting for Space: 1999 to come on, long before becoming a cadet...
