BDU's and Velcro

I know this was posted before. But what and where is a Reg on Velcro, instead of sewing Badges and Patches? If there is or is not.  I have a cadet that took the initiative to do this and it looks very nice. I do not have a issue with it myself, but one of the Cadet Commanders has been all over him every week.   Could someone please help me find the Regs. on this so i can settle this once and for all.
    Any help on this would be wonderful.

There is no reg that prohibits it. But, most people, including myself, think it looks bad. In addition it is not uniform with the common practice of sewing on such items.
